More than 225 exhibitors representing 26 different categories will be on hand for the Associated Building
Owners of Greater New York’s 2009 BuildingsNY conference and trade show, scheduled for Tuesday, June 16 and
Wednesday, June 17 at the Jacob J. Javits Convention Center.
A focal point will be the second annual GreenBuildingsNY
conference, co-located by BuildingsNY, which will include
an expanded educational program and a partnership with
Greener World Media. Real Estate New York is an official media
partner for both conferences.
GreenBuildingsNY has joined with Greener World Media’s
GreenerBuildings.com and appointed Rob Watson as
conference chair to expand and enhance this year’s educational
offerings. Watson is CEO of the Eco Tech International Group
and executive editor of GreenerBuildings.com, and has more
than 20 years of experience as senior scientist and director
of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s International
Energy and Green Building programs.
“In today’s competitive environment, having the
knowledge of and access to products and services in the
rapidly advancing green field is not enough,” Watson says.
“Business professionals also need the skills and experience
implementing and managing a building’s environmental
footprint.”
Other enhancements to GreenBuildingsNY will
include the Intelligent Buildings Arena, sponsored by the
Continental Automated Buildings Association. This area
of the exhibit floor will showcase the buildings automation
systems and technologies that interconnect security, fire-safety and suppression, HVAC, telecommunications,
energy management, lighting, and access control while
minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency. Additionally, all
GreenBuildingsNY attendees will receive a complimentary
copy of CABA’s research report, Bright Green Buildings:
Convergence of Green and Intelligence Buildings.
